中船重工重庆总部，利用原有厂房的拆迁用地建设，要求在设计中能够突出企业形象，同时兼顾周边景观资源。迈恩在这个项目的设计中采用教科书式的体量建构手法来进行设计，达到了较为完美的效果。建筑尽可能的尊重地形特征，以景观的朝向作为建筑立面的主要设计方向，在建筑形态上从文脉角度出发，与中船的“船”形象相吻合。通过总图中各种体型和功能的穿插，将地块分割成既单独又相互联系的几部分。同时强调外部的活动人群对于建筑的参与感。

     在功能上，针对重庆地区的气候特点：朝南房间（冬暖夏凉，光照好）；朝北房间（冬冷夏热，光线暗）。避免内走廊设计，以免造成办公室南北分割，导致朝向、采光、通风和冬冷夏热的缺陷；巧用天井可满足所有办公室都朝南，并沿天井区设置环状走廊。
